Custom WordPress Development

TappedPH was developed using WordPress as an application framework rather than relying solely on standard CMS functionality. Custom PHP, WordPress hooks, user metadata, rewrite rules, AJAX, JavaScript, and custom database functionality were implemented to support the platform's application-level features.

NFC Card Activation

Each physical Tapped card is associated with a unique identifier. Users can activate their card, create or access their account, and connect the physical NFC card with their digital profile.
Once activated, tapping the card with a compatible smartphone automatically opens the owner's profile in the device's browser.

Custom Digital Profiles

Every registered user receives a personalized public profile that can contain information such as:

- Profile photo and banner
- Name and professional information
- Company and job title
- Phone numbers and email addresses
- Address and website links
- Social media profiles
- Personal introduction
- Portfolio and image galleries

Users can manage and update their information without needing to modify or replace their physical NFC card.

vCard Contact Sharing

The platform includes dynamically generated vCard (.vcf) files, allowing visitors to save a TappedPH user's contact information directly to their smartphone.
Contact information can include phone numbers, email addresses, company details, websites, addresses, and profile photos.

Dynamic QR Code Generation

Each user can also generate a unique QR code connected to their TappedPH profile or card activation URL. This provides an alternative sharing method for devices or situations where NFC is unavailable.

User Dashboard & Profile Management

A custom front-end account system allows users to manage their digital identity without accessing the standard WordPress administration interface.
Users can update their contact information, social links, profile images, portfolio content, galleries, and other profile settings through the platform.

Gallery & Portfolio Management

Custom AJAX-powered functionality enables users to upload, retrieve, and remove images without requiring full page reloads.
Users can showcase projects, products, achievements, photography, or other visual content directly from their digital profile.

Visitor Tracking & Analytics

TappedPH includes custom visitor logging functionality that records profile activity and provides users with visibility into interactions with their digital profile.

Card Ordering System

A custom ordering workflow was developed for customers purchasing physical NFC cards. The system handles customer information, card models, quantities, pricing, proof-of-payment uploads, administrative order management, email notifications, and CSV export functionality.

Email & Notification Integration
Transactional emails are integrated into the platform for account and order-related communication. Custom HTML email templates and SMTP delivery are used to improve reliability and provide a more professional customer experience.

Security & Access Control

Custom validation and access-control mechanisms protect account-specific functionality and NFC activation processes. The implementation includes nonce validation, controlled routes, user authentication, unique card identifiers, upload validation, and other WordPress security practices.

Responsive & App-Free Experience

TappedPH is designed to work directly through modern mobile browsers. Recipients do not need to download an application — tapping an NFC card opens the associated digital profile directly on their smartphone.

Key Development Highlights
